“Christian Blind Mission thanks Charity First for supporting our ministry to people with disabilities in the world’s poorest countries. Right now, your generous donation to CBMI is healing broken bodies, restoring sight, and getting children walking again. And above all, your support is transforming lives for some of the poorest families on earth –setting them free from disability… for life!”

HOPESTREET Urban Compassion
Homes for the homeless, employment & training opportunities

HopeStreet works alongside the most marginalised people in our city, through programs aimed at empowering people toward the fullness of life for which we were all created. HopeStreet seeks to build projects which are wholistic, incarnational, and empowering.

Hopestreet has been established for 20 years and is highly respected by local agencies in the inner city of Sydney as being a professional, cost-effective charity working to empower people to take control of their own lives. Linda Mearing, previously East Area Manager for City of Sydney comments that, “HopeStreet has established a strong reputation for solid results and integrity - a remarkable feat given the resources you have to give to the issues and complexities you tackle.”

Hopestreet Urban Compassion continues to expand it services and assistance to some of the cities most disadvantaged people. The community development workers in Woolloomooloo connect with underprivileged families and homeless street people through a variety of avenues including employment training, counseling, creative art-spaces, and the popular Back-Shed Café. Empowerment of the local people to move from dependence to independence is at the core of their community development work.
