Christian Blind Mission International
Medical help and hope for the world’s poorest people
Christian Blind Mission International (CBMI) is the largest organisation in the world working to rescue and restore people trapped in poverty by disability. They work in 109 of the world’s poorest countries, helping children who can’t go to school, can’t walk or can’t hear, mums who are blind and have never seen their babies, and dads who can’t work to support their families.
Experience has shown CBMI that in the poorest communities, it’s children with disabilities who suffer most. Their health is weaker, they’re more likely to get infections and their families have less money to get medical help. The sad fact is, without help many of these children simply die.
Inspired by Jesus, they are the ‘forgotten children’ that CBMI is called to find, to care for and to love. With over 1,050 projects, CBMI’s expert medical teams have been restoring sight, providing orthopaedic surgery, physiotherapy, rehabilitation and special education for almost 100 years. Last year, CBMI helped 12,575,580 people – setting them free from disability… for life!
“Christian Blind Mission thanks Charity First for supporting our ministry to people with disabilities in the world’s poorest countries. Right now, your generous donation to CBMI is healing broken bodies, restoring sight, and getting children walking again. And above all, your support is transforming lives for some of the poorest families on earth –setting them free from disability… for life!”
